Today, EXUM, aka Antone Chavez Exum Jr. releases new single “Arrest The Dancer” (prod. by Raixsa and Samkopf), accompanied by a retro and erotic music video.

The track premiered on Beats 1 this morning with Matt Wilkenson proclaiming the “brilliant new artist” is “a little bit Bowie, a little bit Prince.” EXUM cultivated his musical talent while playing in the NFL (SF 49ers, MN Vikings).

With his forthcoming musical debut Xardinal Coffee (June 4, ücke), his artistic journey begins. The album creates a musical ecosystem with a striking blend of idiosyncratic bedroom pop grooves, electronic-tinged wonky R&B and slick hip-hop.

“I wrote the song in a hotel room: New Orleans, Louisiana, the night before a game.” EXUM says of “Arrest The Dancer,” “I had just finished a documentary on David Bowie’s last days on Earth, and the making of his last works, Lazarus and Blackstar. The chorus came to me instantly. A very curious man driving by an apartment building, distracted by an erotic girl in a little red room. The way she was moving within her body led him to believe she deserved criminal punishment. I’m your peeping Thomas.”
